Chris Epps updated us on a new fund raiser that has been suggested for 2025. A festival to be held close to Christmas. It is in the planning stages, the first hopefully to be held in December 2025., starting small and building upon it. Looking for people to participate - Chris is the contact person.
The first social of the year - Thursday, September 19 at Mixx on Main from 4:30 to 6:30. Cash bar, food provided by the club.

was Don Brashears, Major Gift Advisor Basic Education & Literacy. Don is a Member & Past President of the Rotary Club of Hilton Head Island (lunch), he is a PHF, PHS, and he and his wife Terri are Major Donors & Arch Klumpf Society members.
Don has an impressive business career which started when he was 12 years old, selling Philadelphia Pretzels. He followed that up with newspaper delivery, bakery work and at 18 got a job in a steel plant. His experience working at night to earn a BA & MBA, working as a union member, promoted to manager awakened him to how important literacy is and the fact that there are people who do not know how to read or write. His wife Terri, a teacher, had her own experiences which has led her to share Don's passion for education. Don explained how their donation to the Foundation works for them and how it is used and does good in the world in the area of Basic Education & Literacy.
