June 19th there will be a Joint Board Meeting for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 Officers and Board Members
June 28th - Founders Night will be held at the beautiful new facility at Dolphin Head on Hilton Head Plantation. Time is 6:00
Speaker:
Alan Wolfe from CCDC was the speaker and addressed Work Force Housing. The mission of the Coastal Community Development Corporation is it "seeks to increase the availability of homes for our local and regional workforce by preserving existing housing, redeveloping existing property and developing new property to meet the demand of our region while serving working residents."
He explained the qualifications to rent. There are no short term rentals and the program is not targeted to any one industry. The CCDC has gotten non-profit status a year ago. They have gotten a matching grant of $100,000 from CFL along with $125,000 in donations which provided administrative operating funds for the first year. They have closed on 7 units in Hilton Head Island and project to have up to 24 units by the end of the year. 12% of the rental fee is budgeted for maintenance. For more information go to ccdc-sc.org
