President Ben Shelton began the meeting at 8:12. Thom Hill offered a blessing followed by the pledge of allegiance.
Membership Chair John Carroll announced the second posting for prospective member John Eggert.
Social Chair John Farrenkopf recapped a very successful Christmas Party at Spanish Wells last Thursday. Members drained (or "floated," according to Sonny Huntley) a full keg along with several cases of wine. Those unable to attend missed a great party. Mike Hills is heading up our Christmas food basket project. If you can help please meet at Piggly Wiggly on Saturday, December 23 at 3:30. After glow party will be at Loggerhead Tavern, 155 High Bluff Rd. Oyster Creek GC, Hilton Head Plantation. Let security at the gate know you are attending the Rotary party.
Lou Benfante reminded all that he will be re-enacting at Fort Mitchell on Friday. This is in conjunction with our initiative at HH Middle School beginning at 10:00 a.m. All are invited.

Chuck introduced our speaker, Deborah Cobella, representing the Foundation for Educational Excellence. Founded in 2007, her organization funds grants to innovative teachers as well as student enrichment grants and innovative school resource grants. Teachers today do not receive adequate funding for supplies and materials due to budgetary restrictions
