Mayor McCann addressed many questions that are commonly posed to him. Among his answers:
He loves being mayor
He is visiting our sister city in Verona Italy because there is a lot to be learned from such an visit. He will be carry a letter from USCB as well as other exchanges which will offer many benefits to our community.  The 278 Corridor project - the biggest priority is to make sure people living in the affected area (Stewart family) are taken care of.  The committee is actively working on it.  Work Force development is a big issue since all industries are short workers, not just f&b.  To solve housing issues, existing buildings and commercial space is being looked at.  Even more important, is the transportation problem.  We have to make a better commuting situation to the island.  Need Park & Ride in Bluffton as well as a car pool lane.  Education and training is also something being looked at.  Currently the town is reviewing all the parks and will be taking over the maintenance from the county.  (currently we own the land but the county maintains it)  USCB will be involved.  $22.5 million was invested by the town in Celebration Park.   There will be a parking plan to solve some of the parking issues - alleviating some of the problems that the residents encounter and having the tourists pay to park.   Courtyard by Marriott will be opening in the fall.
What is the town of Hilton Hiead Island's biggest asset? -  Volunteerism
St. James Church - next to Mitchelville - Cherry Hill school will move.  Mitchelville is American history and we must do whatever we can to preserve it.
Concerns - we cannot over build; must find a way to refresh houses; Island residents come first.
